Jolie is full of contradictions. Her lips say yes, her actions say no. She flirts men she wants nothing to do with while she argues and frustrates those she really wishes would want her. That saying it is hard to get a read on what she is really thinking behind those bright blue eyes. While her siblings are either too picky or two wild she is somewhere in the middle. Giving off the aura of her Fleurant name sake while using puppets to wreak havoc on those she utterly despises. However, should someone really go out of their way to get under her skin they might not know it-But she is plotting their downfall behind her pretty smile. She knows she can be stunning, and uses it to lure in those weak minded enough to do her bidding for her. She doesn't ever really need to get her hands dirty when there are so many other fools willing do it for her. As well as shallow and a bit vain, she seems to only have a sour disposition. But she smiles so sweetly, looks so innocent, and plays the game just as well as any noble woman; she more then covers for any flaw she doesn't want you to know about.
It was on a dreary May morning that our dear Jolie was born. The rain heavy on the stained glass windows and thunder crackling as if it trying to warn the family of the little terror that would soon be born. They pulled her out of her warm home inside a mother that was damn to tired to even spare the brat a look before falling on her pillow asleep. Her mother had given birth to the babe, named her, and sent her off to a wet nurse as soon as the babe had been granted her first meal.
Little did the child see her mother after that day. Gaston and Adolie were almost nomadic in their travels and had little time to spare for their children, no matter how many they happened to have at the time. So the girl child was raised by her siblings, nurses and tutors in a way. Looking to her older sisters like goddesses and her brothers like gods she felt little love for her parents when they did end up home again, giving birth to yet more brother's and sisters. However much she feared Renate, for he was as cruel as they came when she was but a young girl, she still managed to place him on her list of people to emulate. While Etienne and Narcisse were siblings that were better to watch from afar- yet still watch. The older siblings seeming to want nothing to do with her or the rest of the younger group. As for Maurice though, of all of them, however had been the kindest, and like all her siblings she loved him for it. Ambroise and Musetta however provided entertainment. Though she couldn't say either of them liked her much for it, she often followed their stories, and if asked by an adult she would claim the opposite of those stories at times just to see what would happen if they got caught. Though there were others that she would swear on the gods that were honest to goodness true just so she could see how long they could keep the gag going.
It was from watching her siblings she learned the greatest lesson of all. You can do anything in the world you want, as long as your smart enough not to get caught. She learned at an early age if she wanted something she could manipulate others into getting it for her. Crying to one nurse or threatening another she had little respect for any of her keepers. How could she? They were just people set aside by her mother and father to make sure she didn't starve or fall out a window as a child. They had no love for her, and so she wouldn't grant them any either. And she grew ever into a young lady with all the grace and talent of any of her elder sisters thou perhaps not as elegant as her Narcisse sister, nor as spunky as Musetta. There would be no way she could compete with them on their own games, so Jolie adapted her own.
At one point she was warded out to another family for a year or two to become a lady. Though she will not speak of anything more then accomplishing that goal, it is easy enough for anyone to see she was not pleased with the host family. For it was a small house, with a reputation for building character and fine ladies It was rumored that she returned back to Enos early for unknown reasons.
Now that she has returned to Enos she knows Renate and would be looking for a potential husband for her, and in all honestly she is fine with that. Her ambitions are high as any Fleurant's at times making it difficult to match her with a fitting partner. But she has shown teased him on many occasions about hurrying up and marring her off before she becomes an old maid.
However much a terror Renate had been as a boy to the younger children changed with age. Though Jolie would never claim to be a favorite of Renate. She is no longer hated either. Musetta and Ambroise with their open and wild pranks claimed that part of his resentment. While Jolie being a newly refined lady at least superficially has improved her worth in his eyes. At least, she hopes so. For she knows the more he likes her the better match he will give her in the future with their parents now rotten in the grave because of the plague.
