Personality

Self-confident Cecile likes running things. She makes lists of how tasks should be performed, and keeps everything around her as well-ordered as possible. She does not do it entirely for the wrong reasons. She wants to make things easier for others, and to make the world beautiful. Her implementation of both lacks diplomacy and tends to rub some people the wrong way. But the results are usually well praised, if her implicit directions are followed.

She is uncompromising and frank, and can sometimes seem a little arrogant or self-important. She expects the servants to cater to her demands and whims, no matter how trivial they may seem. It is through the attention to detail and the direction of others that the neglect by her parents before their deaths and even her older siblings is able to be accepted. She is terribly hurt by the neglect, but never lets it show.

There was a little girl

Who had a little curl

Right in the middle of her forehead;

And when she was good,

She was very, very good

But when she was bad she was horrid.

History

On a warm August morning well before sunrise, Cecile was born into the world with a head full of blonde curls and a lusty cry. Her mother's rapid laboring interrupted the feast for Musetta's fourth nameday the evening before, but it was only the late stages of pregnancy that even allowed their parents to be home at all. Birthing their ninth child, Adolie had no problems whatsoever bringing Cecile into the world, and promptly handing her off to a nursemaid.

The next ten years, with a slightly longer visit from her parents to bring the last of their children, Leon, into the world, was muchly without the influence of parents at all. It was in these years that Cecile began emulating her older sister Narcisse, though very often she did not even understand why Narcisse did a particular thing. She knew only that her eldest sister was the perfect lady, at least in Cecile's estimation of what a perfect lady was, and it is from watching Narcisse and noting each and every mannerism, that Cecile began her practice of making lists and keeping notes. The single exception to perfection in Narcisse, was her enjoyment of a man's sport, fencing and Cecile swore to never follow in that aspect of her sister's footsteps. Though she was much closer in age to Jolie and Musetta, neither seemed to behave as perfectly as Narcisse, and as such, did not deserve to be emulated by Cecile.

When her older brothers Maurice and Bayard died, she was ten years old. their deaths left a definite void in the household, but she had not been overly close to either of them, as proper young ladies spent time stitching and following more proven feminine pursuits and not following boys. She cried at their deaths because it was expected of her, however, when her parents died of the plague, she shed no tears, instead blaming them for deserting her for the final time.

She dreams of being at court. It is something that has been at the top of many lists her entire lifetime. It is for that reason she tried her best in her studies, and attempted to perfect her skills. She looks forward to being able to observe real ladies at court and even to the time she will be courted and eventually wed.
