The slightest crease of a frown marked the young woman's face as she turned the page, gaze drifting slowly over the neatly penned words. There was so much to be found- to be discovered- within the pages of a book, but it wasn't nearly as forthcoming as speaking directly to a source.
She'd only arrived the day before, but after settling in, had taken to exploring her new surroundings. Her destination of choice had at first been the library, where she had found herself an interesting book to read, and stolen away to a quieter location within the castle walls. The book was on Arbrecht- its history, for the most part- and given her mother's descendance from that area, Aesha had been quite intrigued. She was very much looking forwards to visiting Westerland once everything here in Forsilvra was done. As far as she knew, the retinue from Arbrecht had already arrived. Perhaps she would able to find one of them later on... ...Or now. Closing her book abruptly, Aesha hurriedly got to her feet and turned, out into the hall, almost crashing headlong into someone who was coming the other way. "I'm sorry." Aesha bowed her head slightly, clutching the book to her breast. "I shouldn't have been rushing so, my lady..." And she glanced up, seeking a face. She did not recognise the woman, but she was certainly not Ahesteri, or Lacharner. That meant that she was from somewhere else. Caelain, perhaps, or the Vandermark. Perhaps... perhaps even Arbrecht. |

Solange had been walking about, minding her own business, when suddenly there was a presence in her way that she only narrowly dodged. Coming to a halt, Solange looked down at the girl, and smiled. Solange recognized the girl, but only because she was a Linnet. Though it had now been a long time since Solange had been in Ahestere, she was one to always keep tabs on her original province’s main family. Renate had also given her the scoop on everyone, and it was clear that this a Linnet girl.
“No, no, it’s fine, please do not worry about it.” Everyone was in a rush once in awhile. “Are you by any chance, Lady Aesha Linnet?” Oh, Solange hoped she was right with which girl it was. “I am Lady Solange Harcourt, born a Fleurant, though.” Solange smiled at the girl, noticing that she was clutching a book. As she didn’t want to overwhelm her too much, she would wait until after the introductions were over to ask about the book. Last edited by Solange Harcourt; 01-21-2012 at 03:13 PM. |

"Yes, I am." Aesha replied, feeling a mixture of impressed and odd, somewhere within the back of her mind. Whilst she was well aware that her father was an incredibly powerful man, it felt strange being recognised by someone she did not really know. "I am pleased to meet you, Lady Solange." Harcourt... Fleurant... Both of those names resounded, echoing throughout the space of her awareness, her fingers feeling charged now as they rested on the cover of her book.
"You are married to a Harcourt. My mother was born a Fitzwulf." She spoke, straining a little to keep all excitement from her voice. "Look," She continued instead, holding forth the tome she carried, in order that Solange might see its title. "I've always been interested in Arbrecht, and what it might be like there. My more has told me stories, but you, you, Lady Solange Harcourt, actually live there. I don't mind that it's Fyrsbruck and not Westerland. Please, if you might have the time..." Aesha hoped that she had the time. She would love, love to hear all about the League of Arbrecht, firsthand. |

“I’m pleased to meet you as well,” Solange responded, impressed by the young girl’s manners. It made her think of her own son, who was not nearly so well behaved, and of the daughter that she had lost. Solange had dearly wanted a daughter, and one that was like Aesha. However, it was not the time for past sorrows.
Solange had met Lorelei Linnet before, though never in great detail. She knew was a Fitzwulf, and that may have subconsciously contributed to her avoiding the woman… Harcourts were not fans of Fitzwulf, the families having too much blood between them. Solange herself was not fond of them as they had kept Alexander away from her for so long, though neither Lorelei nor Aesha had any part in that. Looking down at the tome, Solange smiled at the girl, enjoying how eager she was to show her. She felt sad though, at what Aesha said, though she kept her face smiling. Solange was no fan of Arbrecht, and probably the least likely person to want to talk about the province. She missed Ahestere, and would have rather listened to Aesha talk about there for hours. “Yes, of course, I’d be happy to speak to you about Arbrecht. I’ll be forthcoming, though, and tell you that it doesn’t hold anything to Ahestere, though. But what would you like to know?” |

"I don't think any place could hold a candle to Ahestere. But I think I am also biased in my thinking." Aesha smiled, though she was glad that Lady Solange appeared willing to talk. "This is the first time I've been outside of Ahestere, and it's so very interesting. A lot of things are different, and they are surprising... but there are also things that are the same. I think those are even more shocking- isn't that strange?" She realised that she might have been rambling, however. Truth be told, it was merely a side effect of her excitement. She had talked to her mother about Arbrecht, yes, but she wanted to hear stories from others, as well.
"Is it really very cold there? Is the food bland?" Were the two questions which came most prominently to the forefront of her mind. "What are the people like?" Aesha knew well enough how the Ahesteri were, but those from Arbrecht? She had not met nearly enough to accurately decide, but Lady Solange actually lived there. Surely she would have a better idea. |
