Ambroise has the usual Fleurant blonde hair, dark eyes that glint with mischief, and stands at a decent six feet.

Personality: Ambroise is a brat, the never-grow-up Peter Pan who tells most outrageous lies with a beaming grin, sometimes acts like a jerk, and yet goes out of the harm’s way due to his boyish charm. He is very open about his actions unless he wants to mislead someone deliberately. Ambroise often says what comes to his mind, and half the time it’s difficult to tell if he really means it or not. He isn’t cold and reserved and in that he differs from most of his family. He enjoys life, thinks it’s all about fun, jumps into things with both feet, talks with strangers like they’re old acquaintances or even friends.

In Enos he built himself a reputation of a careless, boisterous and untrustworthy youth. He’s a flirt and a gossip, a dancer and a bit of a drunk at parties. Telling him a secret is common to shouting it to the crowd in a busy street. He doesn’t mean harm to anyone, but he also doesn’t care about people’s feelings. The only exception is his sister Musetta, with whom he’s been best friends since they started to walk and talk. Maybe it’s because how close they are in age, or because of some similarity of character. Whatever the reason, Ambroise loves Musetta and is protective of her in his own, twisted way. He also competes with her at every step, and their rivalry seems to know no boundaries, but is not at all vicious. Whilst all others are victims to his unassuming antics, lies and pranks, Musetta is more like his partner in crime.

One thing that manages to ruffle Ambroise’s feathers is being humiliated. Whenever somebody goes out of the way to rub salt in his wounds, Ambroise will become especially vicious and driven in exacting revenge, whether it is deserved or not. He doesn’t mean to cause permanent harm, but he will devise a nasty way of paying back, and make sure it hurts deep. Otherwise, he doesn’t much care what others say and think of him. He’s insubordinate and devoted only to nihilism, and to Musetta.

History: Ambroise was born curious and demanding. Whenever he was not sleeping, he was either crying to get attention, or staring with big eyes at the wide new world around him. As a baby, he was put in the care of a nurse, while his parents pursued some other tasks. He gave the poor woman some hard time, often crawling away and hiding in most unseemly places, just to have her look for him.

When Musetta was born, the little boy took special interest in her. At first the adults watched them closely, fearing Ambroise might do some harm to the girl, but he was actually very nice around her, more than with anyone else. The two siblings grew up together, played together, took classes together, and stick to each other more than anyone. They devised new ways to play all the time, and especially liked to annoy the grown ups. Ambroise climbed the highest trees, walked the steepest roofs and always tried to sneak in and listen what his father and mother were talking about when they clearly meant to keep things secret. Sometimes he got caught, scolded or even spanked for his trouble, but more often than not he got away unnoticed.

Knowing secrets was not enough though. Soon, the boy started to devise his own, or make them up. He started telling colorful lies about his family and the people who lived in the castle, propagating most outrageous gossip. He got other children into fights over made up taunts and boasts. When he was six, Ambroise and Musetta played their first big prank. His sister hid in an abandoned part of the castle while Ambroise ran to his parents and told them a tearful story of how the two kids sneaked out to the town, where Musetta got caught by brigands hoping to ransom her, and taken away into the desert. Gaston Fleurant immediately assembled his guard and sent them out in pursuit of the alleged kidnappers. For three days Ambroise smuggled food to Musetta and told her how frantic the castle was, everybody anxious and fearful, awaiting news from returning men or a ransom note. In the morrow of the third day Gaston even sent letters to lords of the other cities, asking them for assistance. But the same day one of the palace guards noticed Ambroise smuggling food under his tunic, and followed the boy to Musetta’s hiding place. The two children were punished heavily and given laborious jobs. It wasn’t enough to keep them enjoying such ‘games’. Not two months after, Musetta told her mother that Ambroise fell into a well…

So Ambroise grew in his sister’s company, both getting the reputation of liars, and working hard at keeping it. When he was eleven, they got drunk on cider he smuggled away from the kitchens. At twelve, he stole apples from grocers. When plague hit Ahestere, he regularly dressed in peasant’s clothes and walked into the city. The sights of the ill were ghastly, but he made a lot of coin at selling them “powders” and “potions” to fight off the weakness. He learned then that desperate people were easy to fool. The money he drank, gambled, or even gave away in fits of bizarre generosity. Though witty, he didn’t care much about lessons, except fighting. He liked to practice dagger and spear. Being not exceptionally strong, he stood better chance keeping his foes at a distance, or sneaking up on them, and these kinds of plays he liked, but he never showed any consideration for knighthood.

In eyes of the family, except Musetta, he was spoiled and useless. Nobody ever cared what he was doing, unless it was something especially dangerous or disgusting – to them. He was not driven away, but not much welcome either. No one ever considered giving him any sort of task, thinking he would just disregard or make mockery of it. These days, he’s growing restless and bored of Enos, eager to move away and find new people to play his games on.

"You, boy, are cheating," the worn out traveler growled. Two other players lifted heads from their cards and glanced between him and Ambroise, immediately suspicious.

"I'm not. It's not my fault you have no luck today, sir," Ambroise shrugged the accusation off with a smile. This guy was good at spotting things though. Ambroise still had spare aces in another sleeve and behind his belt. There was going to be a trouble, but he didn't show a shred of concern. There was no danger. Like a cat, he always fell on his feet.

"You hear what I'm saying, boy? You are a cheat!" The outsider stood and drew out a knife. The two locals stared at the blade with wide eyes, then got up and reached for their money on the table. They were honest townsfolk, looking to repair their budgets with a game of cards. Too bad they had to stumble upon Ambroise and this rough traveler.

"Leave that money!" man with the knife shouted at the lambs, and they hesitated. Ambroise stood up too, wondering who was really the cheat here, him with extra cards, or the brute laying hands on gold he didn't win.

"Now now, my upset friend, there's no reason to be hasty," Ambroise spoke with light in his voice. He didn't give the knife anything but a cursory glance. The man's face was much more important.

"Give me back what you robbed from me!" The traveler was shouting still, and by now the whole tavern was quiet, everybody staring at their table. The two townsfolk glanced at each other and slinked away, their lives more precious to them than the coins. The proprietor in his corner had a wary face, getting ready to say something.

"I won it earnestly," Ambroise kept to his, but he knew insisting was no use. He decided to cut his stay short, so he grabbed the table and shoved it up on the traveler. The man grunted as he tumbled to the floor, hit hard by the wood and a flurry of coins. A gasp went through the room, but even sooner than it died there were vultures on the floor picking up gold. Two townsfolk found their courage and started shouting it was theirs. Ambroise immediately slipped away. Passing by the keep, he threw a few coins to the grim burly man. "For your trouble," he smiled and ran out to the street.
