House Fitzwulf Westerland, Province Ruler "By Sword And Strife" ![]() Note: Any New Fitzwulfs Applied for After this Point will Be Killed During the Arbrecht War The Fitzwulf Family came from The Vandermark and deposed the rulers of Westerland in a violent and savage coup, and immediately set about turning the region into a powerhouse. These days, the Fitzwulf Family are the most powerful in The League of Arbrecht. Their traits are golden hair, high degrees of military training, rash decisions and a subtle ruthlessness that rarely shines through, until the last moment.. The Patriarch, William Fitzwulf, died two years ago - having conquered Westerland's greatest rival and brought together Arbrecht into a semi-united League. The Family reputation is one of brutality and savagery, but upfront honesty. If a Fitzwulf has a bone to pick with you, you'll be the first to know. It's coffers are moderate; the war with Heldenbrecht cost them dearly, but the acquisition and sale of many fine treasures and artifacts from the conquered lands were well-placed to buoy this up, erasing the war debt. It's colours are black and gold, it's sigil is the golden wolf rampant, and it's motto is 'By Sword and Strife', but a more widely known saying is 'A Fitzwulf gives but one chance', referencing the House policy of offering a defeated foe peace before crushing them utterly. House Harcourt Fyrsbruck, Banner Lords "Family. Tradition. Freedom." ![]() The Harcourts have always ruled Fyrsbruck, or at least as long as anyone can remember. Fyrsbruck is a marvelous city, with a huge statue dedicated to the god Geralt in the center of town. The Harcourts are quite devout in their following of Geralt. They have dark hair for the most part, though red-hair was not unheard of. They have a fearsome navy and the best trained troops in Arbrecht, hands down. They had always been friends with Heldenbrecht, so much so that every Harcourt has Heldenbrecht blood in them. They've also become great friends with the Montroses in Maldenham. Theirs a fierce rivalry between the Harcourts and the Fitzwulfs, a direct result of what happened during the war that resulted in Heldenbrecht becoming a shadow of it's former self. The Fitzwulfs might control the banks in Mier, but the Harcourts control the seas. They travel to the other provinces on a regular basis, indeed it's a rite of passage to meet every lord, see their land and stop by for a visit to the king on the way back. They were the quickest house in the league to unite against foreign invaders, and was one of the first to push against the truly foreign enemy year and years ago. When a Harcourt dies, the body and their most treasured possessions is placed on a small canoe, covered with a decorated blanket, lit on fire and sent out to the bay of Geralt after sundown. The event is required to be attended by all the commoners in the city and all the vassal families. During and prior to the sending off the choir (Led by Ian in recent years) sing a funeral song in the form of, 'Into the West.' Afterwords a great festival takes place throughout the whole city. Their motto is "Family. Tradition. Freedom." [House Genealogy]

House Blanchard Formerly Heldenbrecht/Kelailles, Banner Lords "Ever Bright, Ever Noble" ![]() The former royal house of Heldenbrecht, the Blanchards were once the most powerful family in Arbrecht. When the plain tribes split, the Blanchards were the original ruling family, and at one point claimed ownership of three major cities; Landerfell, now Westerland, Heldenbrecht, now a torn-down ruin, and Kelailles, an independent city state. Known as a charming, but devious, House, the Blanchards were reputed for both their sophistication and their arrogance. Centuries ago, they sent the largest contingent to help fight the invaders, and in turn lost Landerfell to the Fitzwulf family for this deed. Ever since, the Blanchards have hated the Fitzwulf Family, fiercely. Their House Motto is "Ever Bright, Ever Noble." Perhaps one of the most educated and cunning ruling family, they relied on spies and assassins for many diplomatic interactions, and could call up the largest army in Arbrecht – relying mostly on the Feudal system of Knights and Levies. They were steadfast allies with the Harcourts of Frysbruck and interrmaried with them frequently. However, William Fitzwulf smashed this army by successfully bribing their Chief Spymaster, so that his Fyrd Milice could fall upon the unready Heldenbrecht Army outside their Capital. After four pitched battles, in which the Fyrd Milice hounded and battered the flailing Blanchard Army, the Royal Family was captured by Elrik Kingbreaker. The King of Heldenbrecht signed over all his land and possessions to the Fitzwulf Family; in return, his kin were treated fairly and well, and his eldest daughter was betrothed to Jon Fitzwulf. No male sires of Heldenbrecht live. [More: House Blanchard] [House Genealogy]

House Vulferam Mier, Banner Lords "Strength in Size" ![]() In a time of chaos and darkness, there was nothing but war. The ancestors to the House of Vulferam were once just a barbaric clan with little education made up of warrior-like pirates. They mastered seas easily with their shipbuilding abilities but lacked the drive or organization to conquer other lands or neighboring clans. Auberon Skarpsvard "sharp sword" Vulferam changed everything. He reigned in the chaos of his clan with an iron fist. A great warrior and cunning leader, his descendants are no longer barbarians but a respectable house of Lords. Vulferam are known physically for their imposing and at times impossible height. The House of Vulferam live by their code of honor, which has never been bent in nearly seven generations. They are known for their sharp intelligence and ability to speak reason when others are blind to it. Although brilliant peacekeepers, they are not afraid to jump into battle when they are needed. Vulferams still honor their barbaric roots refusing to get comfortable ruling from their homes. They can survive in the wilderness with ease, known for their hunting skills. The open sea is a second home to them. Although at times extremely stubborn and proud, they are open to new ideas. Vulferams have more friendly approach to foreigners, make allies not enemies. House Montrose Maldenham, Banner Lords "I Roar, Not Squeal" ![]() The Montroses are an old house, centuries older than the throne of Forsilvra. They rule as Earls of the Green over unruly clans that occupy a cold, raiy land of hills and rock. They are not overly rich, not exceedingly educated, nor well acquainted with the world. The biggest thing they have is their pride, and their swords. Their land boasts the best archers in the five kingdoms, good scouts and hunters, and lots of its men served as mercenaries, mostly in Arbrecht, but sometimes beyond. Montroses claim their descent from an ancient hero Monroe The Bold, a great scourge of Arbrecht, who was defeated by Jerrod himself, and from then on assisted the Great Warrior in his adventures. House Brabant Ernsaw, Banner Lords "Survive And Strive" ![]() House Brabant is the house that had modest beginnings and grew into a vassal house. Starting as a brave warrior surviving underneath a Blanchard King, the House Brabant began as more of an order of unlanded knights, each member trained magnificently in arms and combat. After decades of service, the Brabants were raised to the status of vassal house and were given lands in return for their remarkable service to the Blanchard King. There are conflicting tales of the Brabants in battle. There are stories of the great honor and respect shown in the course of combat by the Brabants. There are also tales of ruthless tactics and gruesome slaughters headed by Brabants. They will do anything to survive. In the ashes of war, they seem able to strive to greater heights. When Heldenbrecht was destroyed, the surviving Brabants knew they had to surrender to the Fitzwulf to continue to exist. In return, the Fitzwulfs allowed the Brabants to maintain their lands in the shadows of the ruins of Heldenbrecht. Overall, they are a martial group, all trained in the art of war. Some prefer to fight dirty, others to fight chivalrous, but as long as they survive the fight, that is what they deemed to be important. They are known for the loyalty to their sworn lords, but they are an ambitious group. Seeing how their Blanchard lords have been dismantled and destroyed, they yearn for the day they can avenge the destruction of Heldenbrecht. [House Genealogy]

![]() The North Gate, Ernsaw Represented by Rochestor Castle House Alinar Ernsaw, Former Banner Lords, No longer exists "Blood and Fury" ![]() House Alinar's origins are that of a people swept in exile. They arrived in Arbrecht six hundred years ago after a bloody feud divided their people in half from their original homeland in the west. The cold north makes for hard people, and House Alinar does not truly see themselves as noble. They are the family that was elected by their fellow tribesmen of Ernsaw to rule to represent them. The Alinars hold a keep and have the smallest army in Arbrecht, as their fighters are merely a percentage of the population. A man can keep what he kills in Ernsaw, and even the lowliest man can achieve the highest glory. House Alinar is the only clan chieftain family to keep power for so long, following the custom of passing it from father to most powerful son. That being said not always does the eldest son inherit the house and there have been cases of second sons or even third killing their brothers to take power. However in recent times the house has been in disarray, as for the last fifteen years before its current Lord Tancen's rise to power, his mother, Aurelie Blanchard Alinar ruled in the name of her son, the first for any woman in Ernsaw. It's house words are “Blood and Fury.” [House Genealogy]

House Storm Kelailles, Banner Lords "Calm Before the Storm" ![]() The Storms are an ancient royal house, who trace their ancestry and founding back to ancient Arbrecht war heroes such as Sigmund the Stormlord, who led the conquest of the Tivark kingdom and established the Kelaillan Stormlands, and Torygg Stormcaller who united the peoples of ancient Arbrecht. The Storms rule their island hold from the mountain stronghold of Strun Bah Qo in the western mountains, over the united houses of Kelailles. Their words are "Calm Before the Storm." The Storms and their vassals follow their own religion, the Way of the Storm, and are held together by ancient traditions foreign to even the rest of Arbrecht. The Stormlands bear a higher percentage of a militant population than any other hold in the kingdom, being descended from great warriors and a culture well-tested in combat. Some of the most remarkable knights and highly disciplined soldiers are found in Kelailles, though they are usually much outnumbered by other houses. More information. [House Genealogy]

![]() Strun Bah Qo, Kelailles Represented by Burg Neuschwanstein House Hollen Vassal, Hornburg "Gore Them All" ![]() "Gore Them All", no truer words used to describe perhaps the most vicious and powerful, second to House Storm, in all of Kelailles. Originally a clan of warriors that came to Kelailles over 700 years ago, they earned their fame, and banner during the first war against the Harcourts. War is in their blood, and not surprisingly the maintain the largest standing army in Kelailles. Led by the mighty Edmund Hollen, known for his fury and power on the field of battle, they are a force to be reckoned with. House Hollen is however not known for breeding knights, to them being a Knight is seen as going against tradition of fighting, and to be a knight is to be weak in their eyes. A rivalry exists between House Hollen and House Cain, the exact cause is unknown to most, but it is believed to be a personal rivalry between Edmund Hollen and Harold Cain. [House Genealogy]
