Ok, guys, I added this new tagging add on that will notify if someone tags you or quotes you.
To tag an account (which I think we'd use mostly in the plotting area) you can type @name and it will tag the user. Like @Friday or @Latara or @Kyle or @Sam or @Cobalt and so on and so forth. You will get a notification on your list (under your name at the top) that you've been tagged in a thread. A great way to get someone's attention that you added to their plot page and replied to them. Let's see how it works! I did a few of the thread tags with the new system at the top. If I tagged you, what are your thoughts?
Also, I messed around with usergroups today for some stupid reason, so everyone is going to need to rejoin the right group. (NOTE, just the TITLE ONES) SORRY!!!!!!!! |

Well I'll be the first to comment. I really don't have a preference and don't see the difference between the two except this time the tags are at the top instead of the bottom? Idk I kind of don't really care. Either one works. /so unhelpful

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Tink right now. The new tag thing seems like a good way of grabbing someones attention, but other than that, its just a less helpful version of our usual one.
Maybe the new one could be used for branding a thread with a member (OOC)? While our old one can be character-exclusive tagging? |

@Sam @Tink
The different between the two is that the one on the top can only be used to tag actual registered username at the site. While using it for OOC is cool, I don't required people to have an OOC, so it wouldn't be applicable to everyone. The one on the bottom is a key word tag, thus, any word at all can be used. When I originally installed the add-on, I thought I was just getting the @ tagging, which I think is really cool to use OOC and could help us make our plot pages more active, because people would get a notification that someone posted there. The other tag thing came with it, and got me thinking that in theory we could 1) use the top tags for character user names 2) use the bottom tag close for ooc names and DATING tags (So all Threads could be tagged May 7, and then you could actually pull a list of all threads on that date!) 3) bottoms tags could also be key words like wedding, bar, whatever. IDC. OR, I can take off the top tags (I've learned how to disable it) and we can just have the @ tagging and the bottom tag cloud like we're used to and I'm ok with that too! Feeback welcome! |
