I'm hell on heels...

“It is fine,” Aurora replied to Amira, waving her hand as if it didn’t matter. She did not want to have to deal with the girl groveling to her, and honestly had no desire to continue conversation with the Linnet. Her mind was settled as far as feelings for Amira were, at least until she did something to prove her worth.
Aurora turned her attention to Melari, and smiled despite her annoyance at Melari’s words. She didn’t need to cover for the girl, it was unnecessary and a bother. However, Aurora kept this to herself, and thought about how she would respond. “Don’t be silly, I am sure there are many who are overwhelmed by all the new faces here. Besides, Lord Roland frequently practices looking like a divider rail, you are definitely not to blame for that.” When Roland added to the joke, Aurora laughed lightly. She was growing very bored with the general conversation, and glanced to Kenneth. The Horn had grown quiet, as per typical of him. Aurora wished he hadn’t, with the exception of Roland; Kenneth was the only interesting person in this group. “Oh? Lord Bradyn Forthwind is your uncle? I should have realized,” Aurora snapped her attention back to Melari, interested in her comment about Linchao. Bradyn was on the council, which meant that Aurora had seen him many times, though they weren’t close. “You were planning on going to Linchao, really? Tell me about this trip.”

Mel shrugged. "I don't know that there's much to tell you let. Uncle Bradyn deals with the East a lot; I share his interest. But earlier this year he suggested that I choose to learn the language of Linchao, as it's one highly needed, so I started on my own time and will soon have a tutor. If I work hard and make significant progress by the end of the year, he wishes to take me along on his next mission. Apparently they're short on translators." She gave a lopsided smile. "But it's far away, and I haven't proven any talent with the language yet. First things first."
Aurora was far stiffer than her brother, and Mel was finding that she liked her less. Still, she seemed nice enough. But Forthwind couldn't resist turning the subject away from herself again, uncomfortable with attention. "Lord Roland likes looking like a divider rail?" She flashed a glance at him, teasing. "I guess that could be a useful talent if someone tries to take His Majesty unawares. They wouldn't know what hit them." |

( OOC: I think this thread can probably be closed seeing as how 3/5 people are basically MIA from the game, lolz. )
“I’m sure now that you’re in Forsilvra, Lord Forthwind will get you the best tutor available.” Aurora had no doubt in that, especially considering that it was obvious Melari knowing the language would be advantageous to him. Though she wondered if it was truly safe to bring a young female there, but that wasn’t her concern. “I’ve been told the language is difficult. I am sure with enough dedication you will make progress.” Aurora found herself chuckling at Melari’s comment, appreciating that someone made fun of Roland. Roland was not her least favorite horn, that was probably Geoffry, but Roland did tend to play a little towards the stick in the mud side more than she liked. “Well, I think I will be off. It was nice meeting you, Melari Forthwind. We will have to talk further at a later point,” Aurora said her good byes and then mentioned to Kenneth, letting him know that they were leaving right then. She did not wish to linger on the tournament grounds any longer with such an odd group of mixed characters.
