"What's the status?" Lucian asked, looking up from the map he was sharing with Ethan. "Are things heating up yet?"

"Yes my lord," the captain said. "Harrowmont's men have set fire to the fields around the city walls. We have not yet engaged their men in direct battle, as per your orders. We are working on cutting the supply lines as we speak. Harrowmont's men said that it would be wiser to start the fire before doing that as it would distract the Quivans."

"Fantastic. I expect another report in an hour."

He looked back at the map with Ethan and then looked out over the trees. "This really is the perfect place to wage the battle from. So long as we don't get arrogant and try to act too soon, I think everything will flow quite nicely."
