The handwriting is not nearly as neat as normal

Yesterday was the final day of the tourney for Allegrezza Sanseverino’s nameday. During the middle of the award ceremony, the arrows flew and we were attacked. It was maddens, chaos, murder, insanity. It was the Scarlet Feast all over again. It was that day in the stables.
I am unhurt and so is Rhiannon, but many were killed. Lord Rex Letalis, Lady Lavinia Sterlyn, my handmaiden Cynthia Sterlyn, and others whose names I cannot even remember. And just the night before, Auron Sterlyn was poisoned in the prison that was his tower. I am shaken to the core, but I pretend to be strong. Rhiannon is by my side, watching as I pen this. She is my comfort in this storm, my most trusted handmaiden.
I miss you all. I miss the safety of your presence. I miss the Eagle’s Nest. I miss rides in the woods and the walks on the beach and the way life was before Amalthia seemed to launch the vultures on Forsilvra.
Be safe. Pray for me and for Alrik’s child and that we survive this war. And I will pray the same for all of you.
