To Her Grace, Fallon Severne Sterlyn,
Cousin, I know you must be severely stressed as of late, being the Queen and King Alrik passing and I pray daily that both you and my sister are well. I cannot say that I am doing well in Alska, as I miss you both. The plague here is not making things any better and I cannot find much to do as much is forbidden to me. There aren't any parties or feasts and everyone I pass even if I wear a smile do not give me the same!
I know this may silly to ask, but as I have not seen my sister in some time would you not be able to send her home? I miss her very dearly, I even miss you but she is my best friend and surely you have other ladies to attend to you! If only for a little while, could you at least bid her to return Alska for a time, a week or two at least? I would be grateful.
Do take care cousin Fallon, and know you do have family that cares for you. My father sends you his greetings as do my brothers and my mother and cousin Kaedon too.
With fondest affection,
Roswyn Severne

Returned to Alska, penned 6/12
My lovely cousin Roswyn,
I understand how you must miss your sister. I miss my brothers with all my heart. If you could return their greetings, I would offer you my thanks. I miss you as well, and the Eagle’s Nest. I hope to be able to visit soon.
But Roswyn, even as I write a plague ravishes our fair city. The port is closed. The gates are barred. I would answer your request to send Rhiannon home, but there is no way for her to travel there and I would not want her to sit outside the gates and risk catching the sickness. Perhaps in the near future, when the city has healed from the disease that has struck. Or maybe you can take ride to Solbra and see both of us here. There is much to be learned from life at court.
My fondest wishes for your safety and health.
Love,
Fallon

Returned to Solbra sent on 6/16
My dearest cousin,
I understand why you must keep Rhiannon. It is still unfortunate. I would want her here with me after all as I am so lonely! But maybe my letter penned before was out of haste. Things have gotten better here, at least I have found a new friend in Lady Felicia Whitstone. Maybe you remember her? She is visiting here with Lady Aurelia. But there is horrible news here cousin as both Aurelia and Lady Marilynn have both fallen ill. Poor Theodoric cannot get into Alska and I pray for both of the ladies to get well.
Please tell me that both you and Rhiannon are doing well in Solbra. Although my sister cannot return home I wish I could go to court! Maybe once the plague lifts as you said. I would have to bring all my dresses. Oh and do tell Rhiannon that I hope she does not mind I put a few more trunks of my own clothes in her room as I doubt she will be coming home so soon. Please keep Lady Marilynn in your prayers dear cousin. I know we both care about Theodoric much and it will be so sad if he had to suffer another loss.
With fondest affection,
Roswyn

The handwriting is not nearly as neat as normal
To my dearest Roswyn,
I would not have you at court now, not after what happened yesterday. If Theo has not yet told you, the tourney party was attacked. Rhiannon and I are both safe, unharmed but shaken to the core. What was to be a day of celebration for the Lady Allegrezza was another tragedy.
I will keep Lady Aurelia and Lady Severne in my prayers to Alathia, that she may heal them, and light a candle in the temple tonight. I cannot imagine how hard Theodoric must be taking his wife being sick, especially if he cannot be by her side. I hope with all my heart they get well soon. Our family has seen too much grief in the past few years to lose another. IGive my regards to the Lady Felicia. I hardly remember her, but I hope to meet her one day soon.
Tell me how Kaedon is faring. And what of the lady Quinn? I noticed that your letter didn’t.. mention her at all. Rhiannon won’t care about the clothing. She cares more about our safety. I know she misses you greatly.. have you written her too?
I miss you Roswyn. And everyone else. Give my love to all those in the Eagle’s Nest
Fallon
