Due to arrive 6/17
Lord Jaeryth,
I've been hearing a lot of unusual things lately. On the one hand, Castell sends me a letter demanding my fealty to be sworn and knowing all of my movements, yet not making effort to compromise. On the other, he seems to be making enemies of all those married to my relations. Wolves are not pets and they don't sit idly by while their pack is in danger, so I find myself in a position where I prepare for the inevitable conclusion unless the serpents can learn to coexist rather than bite and lash at all they know. It is a shame, but it may be a neccessity.
My reasons for writing you, my friend, are two fold. The first is that, as you are my cousin's keeper, I wished to warn you that she may be in danger from whatever schemes the Castell may plan against her and you through her. I don't doubt you are capable of handling it, between your own strength and that of Lazarus Shadowmere, but I feel it my duty to keep you well.
The second is more of a request than a statement. I am certain Victor will try and summon any who will listen to his side when backed into a corner. I ask as a friend that Glodhet either join with Strom in this venture, should it come to that, or simply stay out of the fighting. I will be honest, I do not wish to see our houses at war. It would break Regina's heart and my people's wills to be warring against our sister island. Especially over someone like Victor Castell, who has betrayed my friendship before and would do it again to any others. Letalis, on the other hand, honours their pack and would gladly help out in return when you would need it.
I know this is a lot to place on you, my friend, but I head to Gyllene as I write this and intend to make port in Gora, should that please you.
Best to return any replies with the same bird. It's from my boat and will find me before I arrive.
