To my Province Lords,
It is as I prepare to fight beside Lord Ashpool that news of serious allegations have reached my ears. Allegations that are both without proof and without merit. Victor Castell speaks of offenses committed against his family when in truth, it has always been Lord Castell committing the offense against Forsilvra. I grieve for the passing of my nephew, Ryndor and pray for the swift recovery of Bradyn and the return of Rilynn. I encourage all Province Lords to hold a day of mourning in honor of the memory of my nephew, far too young to pass from this world.
That said, I hope that you will think first before you get behind the gold and purple banner. He encourages you to think of the safety of your children should you follow me. Though, those who know me know that I would never commit murder against innocents. That is a tactic that is far beneath me. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Victor Castell had his own children attacked. Convenient how the would-be tyrant’s heir is the only survivor of these atrocities. We all know Castell to be a man crazed with ambition. He is a man of many traits, but of all of them, what he lacks is subtlety.
Victor Castell speaks of royal blood-lines. But three decades have passed with a Sterlyn as a king. If this was such a great injustice, how was it overlooked for these last thirty years? His claim on the throne was forfeit and without a sturdy foundation to stand upon. It is no use arguing who the crown should have been passed to. The fact was, it was passed to the Sterlyn line and nobody contested it then.
It is my belief that Victor Castell is directly involved in the deaths of Princess Sommara Sterlyn, Lady Horatia Ashpool, and Lady Claudia Sterlyn. It is further believed that Victor Castell perpetrated these acts via paid assassins in an attempt to hurt the royal family. He succeeded. This is not the first time that House Castell has used such methods to gain an upper hand in our lands. House Castell has recently been discovered to have been directly involved in the murder of Lord Malic Severne, a conspiracy made possible through his marriage to Lord Victor’s cousin. She was executed after confessing to the crimes. He warns against the cruelty that I am capable of, but already Victor has demonstrated a capacity to harm and manipulate the great houses of Forsilvra. Is this a man you want to raise up as your king?
With these offenses, I hereby strip Lord Victor Castell of his lands and titles in Ovador and condemn any who follow him to be a traitor against Forsilvra. I will reward anybody who brings me the head of Victor Castell with his province. It is clear that this tyrant should not be allowed to win, that he will not fight for his people. Even now while plague and savages ravage our eastern coasts, he refuses to come to the aid of the people. Victor Castell does not love the people… He loves himself.
Sincerely,
HRM Alrik Sterlyn,
The true King of Forsilvra
