Team! Two wondefully nice people over at RPG-D did another two reviews on our site. I would love if you could take the time to read over what they have said, and let me know what things you would like to see changed based on what they said. They had some great ideas and perspective, things I definitely want to work on, but as you guys are my members and have been guests who joined, I def want your feed back too.
Thank you guys! We can always discuss in cbox too!

You know it's funny that you mention having the descendants pick up the fighting because I was just thinking about that this weekend, how fun forsilvra: the next generation would be.
ETA: Also, reading the reviews more carefully - I was a bit confused by how that one reviewer said that language was too stylized, I've never felt that. But I guess I have to agree the rules got a bit long.

Wow. First of all, I was very surprised that these people actually took the time to review the site properly. I expected them to look over the skin and skim through the rules and applications or something, but gosh, they really actually read everything. Now that I am a member on this site my opinion is quite different than it was when I first joined. I agree with everything that was being said about the skin and banner, it's amazing. The rules are very long and intimidating, but I don't think that was what threw me when I first joined. I remember my initial reaction back then and if it weren't for Cee, I honestly do not think I would have joined the site. I think it was far too intimidating, the amount of information. I had no idea where to start reading and the plot really did not clear things up for me as much as confusing everything some more.
I think that some kind of guidance so that new members know what to read first and what is unimportant, such as religion (because you learn all of that later in the game anyway) to read first. I did not read the House Genealogy in the beginning because it confused me. It took me a while to understand everything, I think around one and a half weeks for me to not have to open a tab with the map and the house description and so on to help me understand what was going on. I think that the plot needs to be easier to understand and linked with the map or something.
I actually am really excited for the Wikipedia page to be finished because I think that it will help a lot with all the links to different pages. Naturally, now I am adjusted to the game and I understand all of the intricate details that I missed out on as a new member. But yeah... just blabbering here. Maybe something to help with the politics and the house rivalries would be good, but we do have the awesome time line for that.

Look at those reviews! Holy chinchillas! I agree with Stella, when I first jumped in if it wasn't for Jenn I would have turned tail and ran. There is a ton here, but now seeing that you guys started a newbie helper thread, well it makes me happy! We do have a lot of information! Plots, side plots, with underlying subplots, with time lines, genealogy, maps and travel times, but our long term players will come to understand that it's needed.
They're all really emphasizing their unhappiness with the amount of rules we have, and I can kinda understand why. But we are pioneers! We have started a game of epic situations that involve dastardly families! There needs to be a few rules! Now for my serious input.
In the general rules section we could probably get rid of two rules.
5. All out of character posts, including introduction, plot discussion, questions, comments, or notifications of absence should be posted in the non-rp forums. Please tell us if you're going to be away for more than a week.
First, this is secretly two rules in one. This is saying, "Hey, put the post where it belongs." and also "Hey, tell us when you're leaving for vacation!"
Now I understand the second part must be a stated rule, the first part doesn't seem as needed. Everything here is so well divided and put together that I don't see the need to tell people where to OOC post. I think the forum speaks for itself!
6. Please create a normal sounding username if you'd like an OOC or sign-up account. Anything sounding like a spammer will be deleted. Your RP account will be your character name. As a note, I can change your account name down the road if you'd like to convert an ooc account to a character one.
This is a nice rule, but honestly if rules have to go ...
For the Forsilvra specific rules, I know they're all needed so maybe, shorten them? It's so hard for me to read someone saying we have too many rules just because we've all seen why we need them all. So it makes it difficult to say "Well, we don't need this one".
