Larson had done a good amount of sneaking around in the kitchen below deck, rifling through cupboards and boxes, finally laying his hands on his sisters favorite chocolates. On his way out the door, he'd snatched a basket of fruits, and stealthily made his way through the halls towards Tempest's room.

He finally made it to the door outside her room and hid the basket with fruits and chocolates behind his back, knocking on the door softly.

Sea travel was not on the short list of things that Tempest enjoyed and looked forward to, she she chose to spend more of her time locked away in her cabin. It was tiny, and crap, but perhaps Victor had been in a forgiving mood when he granted her a room alone. Or perhaps, she was just better behaved than some of the other women. That was a surprise. Either way, she didn’t mind, though her room had an odd, lingering smell from whoever had stayed in it previously. Tempest didn’t want to know what it was.

Laying on the bed, Tempest was daydreaming, when the soft knock penetrated her dreaming. Drifting back to reality, Tempest beckoned whoever it was in, hoping that they wouldn’t be offended that she did not come to the door. If they were, Tempest would just feign illness due to the travel. Smiling when she saw Larson, Tempest excitedly sat up in bed.

“Larson! What have you brought for me?” she asked, the basket sticking out from behind his back.

Larson laughed, she always spotted him when he was trying to be sneaky. "I brought you chocolates and fruits!" he said showing her the basket and flopping down on his sister's bed. "They were just hording it, so I decided we could have it!" he chuckled as he set the basket down in front of her. "There's tons of chocolates that I found, all different kinds! I thought you'd want something to munch on!"

He settled in at the end of his sister's bed, sitting with his legs crossed. "Tell me what you have been up to! "

Leaning against the wall, Tempest smiled easily for Larson, delighted that he had come visit her. The gifts looked delicious, and her eyes gleamed in response at the chocolate in particular. “Very smart of you, Larson. What do they need it all for anyway?” Tempest laughed, comfortable to be herself around him. Larson had always been one of the easier going Castells, and she felt that they understood each other.

Picking up one of the chocolates, she ripped open the tin that contained it and stared down, assessing her selection. “What have I been doing? Not enough. I went to Blasa, and that was blah just like it sounds. Other than that, you know, the wedding. I missed most of it though, since I was sanctioned off with the other girls. Aren’t you glad to be gone of that hell hole? I can’t wait to return home! What about you?” Having decided upon a chocolate, Tempest picked up the piece and plopped it into her mouth, chewing it soundly as she listened to Larson’s response.

Larson laughed as Tempest settled down and began to pick out of the basket. He suddenly remembered he brought a drink too. He leaned forward and pulled a bottle of rum out of his pocket, and set it on the bed. "Rum and chocolates!" he laughed and leaned back.

"Yes I'm so glad to be out of there! I've been beaten up and stabbed, I'm healing well though! But other then that, I have been doing a whole lot of bullshit." He took a deep breath and looked his sister in the eye. "Mostly spending my time with Lex, did you hear I got denied my request for marriage?" He looked up from the bedspread to his sister, scratching his hand absently. "That was a fun time ... Victor rates me up with the biggest failures ever now."

“Everything is better with rum,” Tempest replied, wholeheartedly believing that alcohol could improve any situation. Larson knew his sister well, and for that she was ever grateful. A brother who brought her booze and chocolate was a keeper.

“We haven’t spoken in so long, Larson,” she answered, confused about half the things he had just said. Larson always seemed to be up to trouble, and Tempest had learned in the past that it was not wise to get involved. Tempest was not someone for adventure ever preferring to be locked away in her room reading about an adventure with a smooth glass of wine.

“You got denied?” She questioned, wondering what the circumstances of that was. “And Victor is an ass... Who cares what Victor thinks as long as he doesn’t want to kill you.” Tempest hated Victor, especially for what he had done to Loralynn. He was not a man to be trusted. Even though he prided himself on the superiority of the Castell family he was then willing to treat them like loyal dogs.

Larson nodded quietly, "You're very right, Victor is an ass ..." he was starting to zone out but reigned himself back in quickly. "He also thinks that my marriage was denied because of my foolish behavior. Which is complete and utter bullshit ... it was probably all his fault, he did something." Now he was mumbling, he wasn't bitter or anything ... nope ....

Then he realized the look of confusion on his sister's face. "OH! Sorry." He shook his head, he's just rambling again now! "I was set to wed Amelie Mallory. I agreed to it with Victor because he needed ears in the Mallory house!" he said the last sentence with a scrunched up face and deep voice. "I fell in love with her, after some time, and when Victor requested us to be married, even though Christopher promised our union to Amelie, he denied it to Victor's face. There was no reason given, and you know Victor, he was denied so he packed up and went home."

Tempest nodded in agreement, reinforcing the idea that she thought Victor to be an ass. She watched Larson, and it was clear that he was upset

“Aww, you’re in love?” Well that was interesting news, to say the least. Tempest wasn’t quite sure how to take it, so she filed it away for information later. Everyone seemed to be getting married or falling in love lately, except for her. But that was okay. “Amelie Mallory, wow,” Tempest interrupted him, and then she gave him a small smile. Amelie would not be her first choice for someone to wed, but you didn’t pick who to fall in love with.

“That’s.... what. Who denies Victor?” Tempest snickered, delighted that Victor had been denied, and then remember it was also a snub for her brother. She gave him a pat on the shoulder. “The Mallory family, I’m sure Amelie is lovely, but I do not trust their lord. Do you see how quickly they have risen in power? It is unsettling, and then to deny a Castell... how rude. Plus an honorable man would not go back on his word like that.” She decided then and there that Christopher Mallory was scum.

Larson listened to Tempest's opinion. She was often right about people, he thought he could trust Christopher, but then he knocked him down. Though, he did give him a chance to see Amelie before they parted ways.

"I'm just not sure." Larson shook his head and grabbed a handfull of fruit. He had no idea what he grabbed but he just started chowing down. "He did rise to lord really quick, didn't he?" He shrugged and continued eating.

"I just know that I don't care what I have to do, Amelie is mine." He looked Tempest in the eye now. "I do love her, which is odd, I never thought I'd actually dedicate myself to one person, but she's amazing!" He knocked back some rum and smiled. "So anyways ... that's all that's new here!"

“Yes, he did,” Tempest agreed with brother. They were new blood, which was in her mind, not to be respected. Their power was the result of luck, not time and work.

Tempest was concerned for her brother, and she wished he had chosen someone better to fall in love with. Amelie Mallory just seemed like trouble, and she didn’t trust the Mallory family one bit. “I’m ... shocked,” she said, honestly not sure of what else to say. Tempest had known Lexington would one day settle down, but she had never thought that Larson would. He didn’t seem to be the type, but somehow he had fallen in love.

“Don’t do anything too stupid, Larson. You have to play it smart, but I’m sure Victor will get her now.”

"Not-too-stupid is my middle name!" he said as he leaned foward, "Her family aside, Tempest. I've never met a woman that can keep up with me, besides in the family, a marriagable woman! She's so bright and vibrant and her seductive skills, they match my own!" he popped what seemed to be a grape in his mouth and chonked happily. "I know I'm the last person on Earth who anyone thought would ever get married, especially by my own choice. But she's wonderful, and she may have not been very lady like before, but she will be now." he laughed devilsihly.

He nodded when Tempest said that Victor would get her this time, well Victor expected him to get her, but that's another story. What kind of world is this where one man decides the fate of everyone around him?

They had sat and talked for a good while longer, chatting about love gained and lost for the two of them in the past, as well as friendships. They had gotten pretty drunk and the chocolate was settling well with the fruit and rum. Night time had actually fallen on them quite quickly and Larson hugged his sister tight.

"It was wonderful to find time with you again." he slurred, swaying back and fourth. "Night." he spun on his heel with a wink, and toddled off back to the room he shared with his brother, the day had been long and there was much for him to think about now. Tempest had always been such a good listener, and she was always there to be honest to him. He was so fortunate to have such a good sister in her.
